About Downproof Tester

The Down proof Tester can determine the down proof capability of the fabric which contains feathers or down filling. It can carry out the down or feather penetration through the primary tick fabric of a sample that has feathers and fibers in it. The device comes with an electronic pre-determined counter that can count the number of cycles per test and has an acrylic plastic cover with interlock for safety.

Instructions:

A sufficient amount of specimen from the fabric that needs be tested for sewing a pocket of specified dimension, is filled with a particular weight of down, feathers a mix of both. This bag is then sewed up along with the fabric to form a testing bag. Both sides of the bag is clamped and placed in the holder. The down proof ability is then determined from the test results by calculating the number of down and feathers through the fabric.

FAQ's of Downproof Tester:

Q: How does the Downproof Tester function?

A: The Downproof Tester works by simulating real-world usage conditions to evaluate a fabric's resistance to down and feather leakage. It uses an electric mechanism to agitate the sample, assessing the amount of fill that escapes through the fabric.

Q: What materials is the Downproof Tester constructed from?

A: This tester is crafted from high-grade stainless steel (SS), ensuring both strength and corrosion resistance for industrial environments.

Q: When should you use a Downproof Tester in textile manufacturing?

A: It is advisable to use the Downproof Tester during the quality control stage of textile production, especially for fabrics intended to contain down or feather fillings, such as bedding and outerwear.

Q: Where can the Downproof Tester be utilized?

A: The Downproof Tester is suitable for use in industrial settings, particularly in textile laboratories, manufacturing plants, and quality assurance departments across India and for export purposes.

Q: What is the testing process with this device?

A: The process involves placing a pre-conditioned fabric sample inside the tester, then initiating its electric operation. After a specified time, the amount of down or feather leakage is measured to determine the fabric's performance.

Q: How does using this tester benefit manufacturers?

A: By providing accurate assessments of down resistance, the tester helps manufacturers ensure their products meet market standards. This reduces complaints, enhances brand reputation, and increases customer satisfaction.
