About Fabric Drape Tester

The Fabric Drape Tester can evaluate the drape coefficient of any fabric with the help of image processing technology. This tester can check the drape property of all kind of fabrics by tracing a shadow of the draped sample on paper. Fabric of any color can be tested without changing the color of the background. It is done with the help of 1000W halogen lamp that used for exposure in a separate developing chamber. The system has a CCD imaging system for static and dynamic processing of images. This tester can output results in a variety of charts that can be used for analysis, data statistics and storage purpose. This 160Kg tester has a body dimension of 540 x 480 x 870 mm and the capacity to rotate at a speed of 10 to 120 rpm.

Precise Fabric Drape Evaluation

This drape tester provides an accurate measurement of fabric drape coefficients ranging from 0% to 100%. The specimen is held steadily in place on a corrosion-resistant and vibration-free base, ensuring consistent results and reliable fabric characterization. Its manual rotary index clamp mechanism allows for simple specimen changes, making repeated testing convenient and straightforward.

User-friendly and Standards-compliant Design

Engineered for laboratory and industrial use, the device features a circular mirror for clear drape observation and a graduated chart for precise readings. The inclusion of a cutting template, tracing paper, and user manual further enhances usability. This equipment complies with international standards, making it suitable for textile testing and quality assurance processes.

Complete Accessory Kit and Manual Operation

Supplied with tracing paper, graph sheets, and a comprehensive user manual, this drape tester requires no electricity, making it functional in diverse environments. The corrosion-resistant epoxy finish and robust SS construction offer lasting durability, while the manual tracing display facilitates graphical data collection for in-depth analysis.

FAQ's of Fabric Drape Tester:

Q: How is the fabric drape test conducted using this equipment?

A: The test is performed by preparing a fabric specimen using the included cutting template and placing it on the sample platform. The rotary index clamp secures the specimen, and the drape is observed using the built-in circular mirror. The outline is traced onto paper, and drape coefficients are calculated using the graduated measurement chart.

Q: What types of fabrics can be tested with this drape tester?

A: This tester can evaluate both woven and non-woven fabrics, making it suitable for a wide range of textile products in industrial, research, and quality control applications.

Q: When is it appropriate to use this equipment during textile production?

A: The drape tester is best utilized during quality control and research phases, particularly when assessing fabric behavior before new product launches or validating fabric specifications against industry standards.

Q: Where is this fabric drape tester ideally used?

A: It is ideal for use in textile testing laboratories, research institutions, manufacturing quality control departments, and educational settings focused on textile technology.

Q: What is the process for preparing a specimen for testing?

A: Specimens are cut to a standard 254 mm diameter using the supplied cutting template, ensuring uniformity. Only one specimen is tested at a time to guarantee precise and repeatable results.

Q: How does the manual display and measurement system benefit users?

A: The manual profile tracing allows detailed graphical data collection, giving users hands-on control over the measurement process and eliminating reliance on electronic components. This ensures accuracy and repeatability even in environments with limited electrical infrastructure.

Q: What are the maintenance advantages of this equipment?

A: Constructed with a corrosion-resistant epoxy finish and heavy SS base, the tester is durable and easy to maintain. Its manual operation reduces the risk of electrical faults, supporting long-term, trouble-free use in demanding textile testing environments.
