Product Description
Application:
Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester, To determine the abrasion and pilling resistance of all kinds of textile structures. Samples are rubbed against known abradants at low pressures and in continuously changing directions and the amount of abrasion or pilling is compared against standard parameters.
The unique design of Martindale tester allows removal of individual sample holders for examination without lifting the top motion plate. Martindale tester provides individual counters and parking function, interval time settable, large touch-screen display, Standard sample holders and 9 and 12kpa weights are included. Martindale Tester is available with 4, 6, 8 or 9 test positions.

FAQs of Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester:
Q: How do I operate the Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester?
A: Operation is straightforward: place the specimens in the holders provided, select your desired cycle count using the touch screen or buttons, and set the appropriate load (2.5N, 9N, or 12kPa). Start the test, and the digital LCD will track progress until the device automatically stops and alarms upon completion.
Q: What types of fabrics or materials can be tested with this machine?
A: The tester is suitable for a wide range of textiles, nonwovens, and fabrics. It accommodates various material thicknesses and is designed for international standards, ensuring reliable results for both natural and synthetic fibers.
Q: When should I use the Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester?
A: Use this tester during quality control checks, product development, or material selection phases to assess and compare the abrasion and pilling resistance of textile products. It is suited for routine lab use and specific investigative testing.
Q: Where can this tester be applied?
A: This instrument is mainly used in textile laboratories, quality assurance departments of manufacturers, exporters, and suppliers, as well as research institutions focused on fabric performance evaluation.
Q: What is the process followed during a test?
A: Specimens are secured in the holders and subjected to a predetermined number of rubbing cycles under defined loads and strokes, replicating real-world wear conditions as per international standards. The LCD counter records cycles, stopping automatically at the set count, while results are documented for analysis.
Q: What are the major benefits of using this tester?
A: Key benefits include precise, repeatable results due to compliance with major standards, flexible configurations (4, 6, or 9 specimens), user-friendly operation, minimal maintenance thanks to durable materials, and enhanced safety features like auto-stop and alarms. It ensures product consistency and helps maintain high industry standards.
