About FST/ Force & Shrinkage Tester
FST,Force & Shrinkage Tester measures the Shrinkage % and Shrinkage Force on the industrial yarn simultaneously. The system is a closed unit, which maintains a controlled atmosphere as the test is progressing.
The system uses a high temperature heater to measure in Shrinkage % and Shrinkage Force. The heaters can be programmed up to 350C to run tests independently as per PID logic. (Optional customized High Temp Heaters up to 450C)

FAQs of FST/ Force & Shrinkage Tester:
Q: How does the FST/Force & Shrinkage Tester measure shrinkage and force?
A: The tester uses a microprocessor-controlled system to apply precise force (0-500 N) and heat to the specimen, measuring both the applied force and the resulting shrinkage percentage (0-80%) accurately via its digital LCD display.
Q: What types of materials can be tested with this device?
A: The instrument is suitable for testing films, textiles, fibers, plastics, and elastomers, making it ideal for a variety of industries including quality control and material research.
Q: When should the devices safety features be checked or activated?
A: Overload and over-temperature protection are automatically engaged during operation, but it is advisable to routinely check the system before each test for proper function, especially in high-throughput or prolonged use scenarios.
Q: Where is this device commonly used?
A: This tester is widely utilized in quality control laboratories, R&D departments, and material testing institutes throughout diverse sectors, including textiles and plastics manufacturing.
Q: What is the process for conducting a test on this machine?
A: Place a single specimen (standard 200 mm or custom size) securely in the grips, set the desired time, temperature, and test parameters via the digital controls, and start the test. Data is displayed in real-time and can be exported via USB or RS232 interface.
Q: How do users benefit from the FST/Force & Shrinkage Tester?
A: Users gain reliable, accurate measurements with simple operation and automatic safety measures, improving quality control and enabling data-driven development for materials and products.
Q: What are the operating conditions required for accurate testing?
A: Maintain ambient humidity between 30% and 80% RH and temperature between 10C and 40C. For shrinkage tests with pneumatic gripping, ensure a gas pressure of 0.30.7 MPa.
